Genesis Reveals Specs and Photos of G90 Luxury Sedan

Updated: Jun 20, 2022

This is South Korea’s answer to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7-series

South Korean luxury car brand Genesis revealed more details of its G90 flagship model. The company released new photos and specs of the luxury sedan scheduled for 2023 release.

Genesis revealed that the G90 will have a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The car is expected to deliver about 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque, mirroring the performance of the G80 sedan. No details have been revealed if the car will have on all-wheel drive option.

Additional features of the car include rear-wheel steering, air suspension, massaging seats, and a fingerprint scanner.

According to the company, the sedan will be equipped with air suspension that allows the car to run lower at higher speeds, resulting to better aerodynamics and improved handling. Likewise, the air suspension also allows the car to raise its chassis for rough roads, as to avoid underchassis damage.

The G90 will also have a rear-wheel steering system that enables the car to turn its rear wheels up to four degrees for better manoeuvrability. Another luxury feature offered by the G90 is its "Chauffeur" system that allows for an adjustable setting for brake tuning.

G90 is Genesis' answer to its German competitors, the Mercedes S-class and BMW 7-series, who have long dominated the luxury car market. Its about time the company to test itself on this class, as other Asian brands like Lexus have done so successfully. It might take a few more decades to establish the company's reputation, but starting with something remarkable is a step in the right direction.
